If AF illummator
light does not reach the subject sufficiently
or the subject has no contrast,
focus will not be achieved. (Approximate
0.3 to 3.0 m (11 7/8 mches to 9 feet 10 l/8 mches)
distance IS recommended.)

In TWILIGHT
mode of the SCENE SELECTION
function
(page 51), the AF illummator
will
enut only when the flash mode is set to f (Forced flash).

The AF illummator
will not emn when the LANDSCAPE
mode of the SCENE SELECTION
function (page 51) is selected or [CONVERSION
LENS] (page 77) is set to [ONI m the setup

Focus IS achieved as long as AF illummator
light reaches to the subject even if its light IS
slightly out of the middle position of the subject.

The AF illummator
is a very bnght light. Although it is safe to use, avoid smmng it directly

someone's eyes at a close distance.

does not operate when adjustmg focus manually.
