9.3

Hardware Test

A master/intelligent device module is individually tested to check whether it normally operates.
Procedure
1.
Connect the terminating resistor provided with the module between the DA and DB terminals on the terminal block of the
master/intelligent device module.
2.
Check the following before powering on.
• Module mounting status
• Input power supply voltage
• The CPU module is set to STOP
3.
Set the following item to "Hardware Test."
[Navigation window]  [Parameter]  [Module Information]  [FX5-CCL-MS]  [Module Parameter]  [Required
Settings]  [Mode]
4.
Write the module parameters to the CPU module.
5.
Power off and on or reset the CPU module to start the hardware test.
Do not perform a hardware test while connected to another station. Doing so may result in a failure of the test.
Checking the status and result of hardware test
The test status and result can be checked with LED display of the module.

Normal completion
Abnormal end
If the test fails, check if the terminating resistor provided with the master/intelligent device module is connected between the
DA and DB terminals. If the terminating resistor is connected, the possible cause is a hardware failure. Replace the master/
intelligent device module.

LED display
The dot matrix LED indicates "H.T."
The dot matrix LED indicates "OK."
The dot matrix LED indicates "ERR."
