VIPedge and IPedge Networking

Multiple IPedge systems can be networked with the VIPedge Cloud-based Business Telephone
Solution.
Multiple IPedge and Strata CIX systems can be networked with VIPedge.
•
Up to 128 systems can be networked together including one VIPedge system and multiple
IPedge and CIX systems.
•
VIPedge Net channels are included free of charge with service. Separate IPedge Net licenses
are still required, same as current offerings.
•
Premise based Call Manager clients do not currently intercommunicate with cloud based Call
Manager clients. Only premise-to-premise Call Manager intercommunication and cloud-to-
cloud Call Manager intercommunication supported. Road map to premise and cloud Call
Manager intercommunication in June 2014.

VLAN Tagging

The IPedge system supports 802.1Q Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) technologies.
For sites that have thousands of IP devices, VLANs may be used to separate the network
virtually rather than physically, to prevent the broadcast and other traffic from one virtual
