    Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

    If the mains plug contains a fuse, this should have a value of 3 Amp. If a plug without a fuse is used, the fuse at the distribution board should not be greater than 3 Amp. Note: The severed plug must be disposed off to avoid a possible shock hazard should it be inserted into a 13 Amp socket elsewhere.

    Always follow the instructions in this chapter in sequence. If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the model and serial number of this apparatus. The model number and serial number are on the bottom of the apparatus. Write the numbers here: Model No.

    Prepare the AC power adaptor. Connect one end of the AC adaptor to the DC IN socket on the main unit. Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to the wall outlet. Set time and date In standby mode, press and hold TIME SET/AUTO SCAN for 2 seconds.

    Turn on Press POWER. » The unit switches to the last selected source. Switch to standby Press POWER again to switch the unit to standby mode. » The time and date (if set) appear on the display panel. • After being idled for 15 minutes in standby mode, the screen turns dim automatically.
