ABS FAULTS - GUIDE TO THE DIAGNOSIS
1. ABS WARNING LIGHT ON
2. CONNECT P.A.D.S.
DOES P.A.D.S. COMMUNICATES? (NO, go to 3; YES, go to 4)
3. PERFORM THESE CHECKS:
•
A. Ground connection PIN 1
•
B. +12V at PIN 18
•
C. +12V at PIN 4 with key ON
4. ARE THERE ANY ERRORS? YES, go to point 5; NO, go to 6)
5. CONSULT THE ERRORS DISPLAY TABLE
6. ABS WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATION
7. CONTACT TECHNICAL SERVICE
8. PERFORM THESE CHECKS:
•
A. Cable continuity between PIN 8 of the ABS control unit connector and PIN 28 of the
instrument panel.
•
B. Check connectors - refer to the operations described in the chapter
If the previous checks are OK, the causes might be:
•
C. ABS control unit malfunction
•
D. Instrument panel malfunction
