Press the  button.

If you hear two, short, high-pitched tones, or if you hear no
tone and the indicator lights steadily, then proceed with
your message.

Release the  button to receive (listen).
If you are not in the range of the system, you may hear a
continuous low-pitched tone and the display shows


This feature allows you to monitor channel traffic on
conventional channels by defeating the coded squelch. This
way, you can listen to another user active on the channel. Thus,
you may be prevented from talking over someone else's
conversation.
 This feature must first be enabled by a qualified radio
technician or system administrator.

Take the control head off hook. (This is the same as monitor on.
You hear all channel traffic.)


