1.8 DIP SWITCHES

Table 1-8 shows the functions of the DIP switches on the
CPU and MOTOR boards.
The settings enclosed in

CPU S2-1 Sets the communication mode.
OFF : Point to Point
ON : Multi-Drop
S2-2 Sets the communication direction
OFF : Duplex
ON : Simplex
S2-3 Termination resistance
OFF : Not inserted
ON : Inserted
S2-4 Switches the internal and external
sync (power line lock)
OFF : Internal sync
ON : External sync (line lock)
MOTOR S2-5 — S2-8 Not used. Set to OFF.
S5-1 — S5-4 Not used. Set to OFF.
S1-1 — S1-4 Not used. Set to OFF.

1.9 SERVICING OF DSP, MOTOR AND CPU BOARDS

Although the DSP, MOTOR and CPU boards are hardly
accessible for servicing, the access for their servicing can be
assured by using extension cables

1.10 REPLACEMENT OF IC14 ON THE CPU BOARD

(1) A special tool is available for use in removing IC223 (please
purchase SUN HAYATO Model GX-8 or similar tool
separetely). Two small screwdrivers can also be used in place
of the special tool.

(2) When using the special tool, fit sections A of the tool into
grooves B on the opposite corners of the IC socket and re-
move the IC as if pinching it up.
When using small screwdrivers, fit their tips into the grooves
ay the opposite corners of the IC socket and remove the IC
as if pulling it up.

(3) When inserting the IC, align the IC orientation and fit it into
position with a finger, taking care that the attached IC is not
tilted.
