Setting up ISE parameters

Perform any of the following tasks at the ISE Parameter settings window:
enter ISE parameters
Setup Calibration information
enter Normal value set
define wash and prime settings
define Rerun conditions
define Real time correction formula
1. At the Process Sequence window, set the processing and print order for electrolyte
tests (124 – 126).
2. At the QC Sample Definition window, add electrolyte tests to existing controls or
define additional controls for the tests.
3. At the Test Select window, select electrolyte tests to run on routine sample, controls,
and calibrators.
4. At the Sample Select window, select CTT position numbers that are set for
calibrators and controls.
5. At the Control Data Registration window, enter the applicable mean and standard
deviation from the product package insert.

ISE calibration

Verify that the CTT position setting at the ISE Parameter Settings window agrees with
the actual positions where you place the ISE standard on the CTT. Run the ISE
calibration using one of the following modes:
• Start button (single point calibration)
• ISE Operation window
Use the ISE Monitor window to review the calibration

Checking ISE calibration

The analyzer performs 5 data checks and a chloride-bias determination to ensure a valid
ISE calibration.
1. The ISE high calibrator runs first.
2. The second and third aspirations of the ISE high calibrator occur.
The first check is performed at this time to determine if the sample-buffer reading is
within the established ranges. If any one of the analytes is outside the established range
System Setup
The first aspiration is a dummy or primer cycle.
The DPP dips into the sample and aspirates 2 µL of sample.
The DPP lifts, aspirates 5 µL of air, dips into the sample, and aspirates 22 µL of
sample.
