telephone and a PC to share one cable run and switch/hub port.
If installing an IP telephone at a location that already has a PC connected to the data
network, it is possible to use either of the following methods:

Use a different cable and complete the following steps:
Leave the PC connected to the LAN.
Patch a switch port to a new cable run.
Connect a CAT 5 straight-through cable from the wall outlet to the LAN
port on the IP telephone.
