1. Safety information Please read through this information carefully before using your mobile phone. Not following the advice can be dangerous. Do not use the mobile phone near chemical equipment, refuelling stations or any other facilities containing explosive substances.

AURO M401 Turn your phone off before entering an aircraft and keep it turned off until the aircraft is once again in the park position. Avoid using your phone in hospitals as far as possible, and do not use near persons with pacemakers, where interference could prove life threatening.

Charge the phone preferably only in well-aired places and keep it away from highly inflammable or explosive substances. To avoid losing your data due to demagnetisation, keep your phone away from magnetic tapes or stripes, diskettes and magnets. Keep the phone away from liquids. Should any liquid seep out of the phone, remove the battery and contact your vendor.

End call/Turn off key When writing text, this key is used to delete the last character entered. When there is an incoming call, you can reject it by pressing this key. When a call is in progress, you use this key to hang up and end the phone conversation.

3.1.3 Inserting the SIM card Lay the SIM card down carefully in the recess and push it cautiously under the protective holder until it no longer moves. Then re-insert the battery and close the battery compartment cover. After switching on the phone you are prompted to enter the PIN number of the SIM card.

Once the storage for 20 phone numbers is full, the oldest entry is deleted each time. After selecting an entry you have the following options: Delete: Delete the entry. Confirm with the "OK" key. Save: Save the number in the phone book.

12. Settings Use the Navigation key in the menu to move to the "Settings" function to configure your mobile phone. 12.1 Date and Time 12.1.1 Setting the time zone Use the Navigation key to move around in the menu.
AURO M401 12.1.3 Setting the format Time format: You can switch between 12- and 24-hour clocks with the "Navigation" key. Date format: You can switch between YYYY-MM-DD, MM DD,YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY,MM/DD/YYYY and YYYY/MM/DD formats with the "Navigation" key. You save the selection by pressing the OK key.
12.2.1 SOS number Enter up to 5 phone numbers to be called in an emergency. Remark: Please note that the phone first sends an SMS to all of the phone numbers and then tries to dial the numbers. If the first number cannot be reached within the first 30 seconds, the phone dials the next number until somebody answers the phone at one of the numbers.

12.7.1 SIM card lock This phone is not preset on a fixed SIM card. However, your SIM card is provided with a password, in this case a PIN number, for protection against theft. When you switch on your phone, it prompts you for this PIN number to make sure that you are the owner of this SIM card.
AURO M401 12.7.3 Automatic keypad lock The keypad lock is activated automatically if you do not press any keys on your phone for a certain length of time. The values you can select for this time are none, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute and 5 minutes.
Remark: Use this function only if you have also set up SOS and M1, M2 and M3 beforehand, and are certain that the user wants to use the phone in user mode with restricted rights. 13 Restoring the factory settings This function allows you to reset the phone to the original factory settings.
