Errors in the E3X-SRT21
Indicator status
PWR indicator not lit. Power is not supplied to the Unit.
The current and voltage are outside
the permissible range.
The Unit is faulty.
U.ERR indicator lit
The Unit is faulty.
red.
ERR indicator lit red. A communications error has occurred
in a slave communicating on the Com-
poBus/S network, and the slave has
been disconnected from communica-
tions.
The Unit is faulty.
PWR indicator lit
A CompoBus/S communications error
green, COMM, ERR,
has occurred.
U.ERR indicators not
lit.
The Unit is faulty.
SS indicator not lit.
No Sensors are connected.
The Sensor adjacent to the Fiber
Amplifier Sensor Communication Unit
is faulty.
The power was turned ON while the
Mobile Console was connected.
The Unit is faulty.
SS indicator lit red.
One or more of the connected Sen-
sors is faulty.
One or more of the connected Sen-
sors has been disconnected.
The number of registered Sensors is
incorrect.
One or more of the connected Fiber
Amplifier Units is from an unsupported
lot number.
The number of Sensors connected is
more than the permissible number.
The reset switch was pressed while
the Mobile Console was connected.
The Unit is faulty.

Probable cause
Remedy
Supply the communications power to the Unit through the
CompoBus/S Communications Connector.
Use the current and voltage within the permissible range.
Replace the Unit.
Replace the Unit.
Check the following items and then restart the Unit.
• Are cable lengths (trunk/branch lines) suitable?
• Are cables shorted, broken, or loose?
• Is terminating resistance connected to the end of the
communications line only?
• Is there too much noise?
Replace the Unit.
Check the following items and then restart the Unit.
• Are cable lengths (trunk/branch lines) suitable?
• Are cables shorted, broken, or loose?
• Is the wiring configuration correct?
• Is terminating resistance connected to both ends of the
trunk line only?
• Is there too much noise?
• Is the node address setting correct?
• Are the master and slave using the same communica-
tions mode?
• Is the power turned ON to the master?
Replace the Unit.
Connect the Sensors correctly.
Replace the Unit adjacent to the Communication Unit.
Temporarily disconnect the Mobile Console.
Replace the Unit.
Replace the Sensor.
Connect the Sensors correctly.
Register the number of Sensors correctly.
Replace the unsupported Fiber Amplifier Units with those
from supported lot numbers. (Refer to 1-3-3 Supported
Fiber Amplifier Units.)
Connect a number of Sensors that is within the limit.
Temporarily disconnect the Mobile Console.
Replace the Unit.
