System Setup (BIOS)

CAUTION: Do not change the settings in system setup unless you are an expert computer user. Certain changes can cause your
computer to work incorrectly.
The BIOS is the first program that runs on your computer when you turn it on. The primary function of the BIOS is to load and start the operating system.
When the computer starts, the BIOS initializes and identifies system devices such as the video card, keyboard and mouse, hard disk, optical drive, and so on.
You can use the BIOS to:
Change the system configuration information after you add, change, or remove any hardware in your computer
Set or change a user-selectable option such as the user password
Determine the current amount of memory or the type of hard drive installed
