Assemble the phone, adjust phone placement, and connect the network cable. If you are using the Cisco
Desktop Collaboration Experience DX600 series phone in a WLAN environment, see Step 5.
This step locates and installs the phone in the network. For more information, see

Step 3
Monitor the phone startup process. This step adds primary and secondary directory numbers and features that
are associated with directory numbers to the phone, and verifies that the phone is configured properly.

If you choose to deploy the Cisco Desktop Collaboration Experience DX600 series phone on a wireless
network, skip to Step 5.
If you are configuring the Ethernet network settings on the phone for an IP network, you can set up an IP
address for the phone either by using DHCP or by manually entering an IP address. For more information,

If you choose to deploy the Cisco Desktop Collaboration Experience DX600 series device on the wireless
network, you must perform the following:
• Configure the wireless network.
• Enable wireless LAN for phones on Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration.
• Configure a wireless network profile on the phone.
