If replacing an existing radio; the original mounting tray will need to be removed and the dedicated TY96/97 tray must be installed. The connector will also need to be replaced. The existing antenna can be re-used – provided it is in serviceable condition. Otherwise, need to be replaced or repaired. An antenna can be replaced under the CS-STAN Section CS-SC004a.
SUP/TY96/004 Issue 1.0 Other than for periodic functional checks required by the regulations, the TY96/97 VHF Radio has been designed and manufactured to allow “on condition maintenance”. This means that there are no periodic service requirements necessary to maintain continued airworthiness, and no maintenance is required until the equipment does not properly perform its intended function.
