    Supervise children when they are brushing until they have established good brushing habits. If your toothpaste contains peroxide, baking soda or bicarbonate (common in whitening toothpastes), thoroughly clean the brush head with soap and water after each use. Do not use the charger outdoors. Preparing for use Store excess cord by winding it round the cord storage hooks in the bottom of the charger.

    ENGLISH 45º The handles of other Sonicare models do not fit in this charger and will therefore not charge effectively. Do not attempt to force a handle into this charger, as this will cause damage. Battery-low indicator When the battery is running low, you will hear 3 beeps after the Smartimer has switched off the toothbrush and the bottom LED blinks yellow for 30 seconds.

Tips for specific oral care needs Stain removal In areas where staining occurs, spend extra brushing time to help remove the stains.   • Page 8 ENGLISH Features Easy-start All Sonicare models come with the Easy-start feature activated, which helps you get used to brushing with the Sonicare. The brushing power will gently increase to full power over the first 14 brushings. The Easy-start feature is active if you hear 2 beeps immediately after switching on the Sonicare.
  • Page 9 The Smartimer will automatically reset to the beginning of a 2-minute cycle if: - you stop brushing for 30 seconds or longer; - you put the handle in the charger. Quadpacer\ The Quadpacer 30-second interval timer ensures that you brush all sections of your mouth evenly and thoroughly.At 30, 60 and 90 seconds, you will hear a short beep and a pause in brushing action.This is your signal to start brushing the next section of...
  • Page 10 ENGLISH The top LED burns green: 2.5-minute Quadpacer is active. The bottom LED burns yellow: the Quadpacer not active. To select the desired setting, release the button when the LED corresponding to your choice lights up. Note: selecting the 2.5-minute Quadpacer reduces the number of brushings available from a fully charged battery.
  • Page 11 Clean the brush head at least once a week, including under the nut. Remove the nut by gently pressing on the rubber seal. Avoid using sharp objects to press on the seal as this may cause damage. Pull the nut over the top of the brush head. To reattach the nut, slip the nut over the brush head shaft and pull it down until it snaps home.
  • Page 12 Dispose of the battery at an official collection point for batteries. If you have trouble removing the battery, you can also take the appliance to a Philips service centre, which will remove the battery for you and will dispose of it in an environmentally safe way.
