Background Music (BGM)
You hear background music through the built-in speaker of the telephone. It
may be required to connect an external music source, such as a radio. One
external music source can be connected to KX-TD816 and up to two sources
can be connected to KX-TD1232. The music stops whenever a call comes in
or when you lift the handset.

When the handset is on the cradle and the SP-PHONE button is off;
1. Press the BGM (S3) button (repeatedly).
• If you are connected to KX-TD816, pressing this button

alternates BGM on and off.

• If you are connected to KX-TD1232, pressing this button
repeatedly selects the mode as follows:
Music 1 Æ Music 2 Æ BGM Off
When the handset is on the cradle and the SP-PHONE/MONITOR button
is off;
1. Dial 1 (repeatedly).
• If you are connected to KX-TD816, dialing "1" alternates BGM
on and off.
• If you are connected to KX-TD1232, dialing "1" repeatedly
selects the mode as follows:
Music 1 Æ Music 2 Æ BGM Off
• The display shows one of the following for five seconds
depending on the mode:
