Cisco 500 Series Stackable Managed Switch Administration Guide
Virtual Router IP Address Table—IP addresses associated with this virtual
router.
Description—The virtual router name.
Version—The virtual router version.
Status—Enable/Disable/Initialize. Initialize is an intermediary status that
occurs before the device becomes either the master or backup. In this
status, the master primary address is 0.
IP Address Owner—Indicates whether the IP address of the device is the IP
address of the virtual router.
Master/Backup Status—The current state of the virtual router: Master,
Backup or Initialized.
Skew Time—This is calculated differently depending on the VRRP version,
as follows:

VRRPv3— ((256 - Priority) * Master Advertise Interval) / 256) Master
Advertise Interval need to be in centi-seconds.

VRRPv2— ((256 - Priority) / 256)
Master Down Interval—This is the time used to determine whether the
master has failed or not. This is calculated differently depending on the
VRRP version, as follows:

VRRPv3— (3 *Master Advertise Interval) + Skew time

VRRPv2— (3 * Device Advertisement Interval) + Skew time
Preempt Mode —True/False indicates whether the preemption state of the
virtual router is enabled/disabled.
The following group of fields are displayed for the current device (My Parameters)
and the master device in the virtual router configuration (Master Parameters):
Priority—The priority of the virtual router from which the packet is being
sent.
Advertisement Interval—The advertisement interval of the virtual router.
Source IP Address—IP address used as source IP address in VRRP
messages.
Click Apply. The settings are written to the Running Configuration file.
