• Virtual Router IP Address Table—IP addresses associated with this virtual
router.
• Description—The virtual router name.
• Version—The virtual router version.
• Status—Enable/Disable/Initialize. Initialize is an intermediary status that
occurs before the device becomes either the master or backup. In this
status, the master primary address is 0.
• IP Address Owner—Indicates whether the IP address of the device is the IP
address of the virtual router.
• Master/Backup Status—The current state of the virtual router: Master,
Backup or Initialized.
• Skew Time—This is calculated differently depending on the VRRP version,
as follows:
- VRRPv3— ((256 - Priority) * Master Advertise Interval) / 256) Master
Advertise Interval need to be in centi-seconds.
- VRRPv2— ((256 - Priority) / 256)
• Master Down Interval—This is the time used to determine whether the
master has failed or not. This is calculated differently depending on the
VRRP version, as follows:
- VRRPv3— (3 *Master Advertise Interval) + Skew time
- VRRPv2— (3 * Device Advertisement Interval) + Skew time
• Preempt Mode —True/False indicates whether the preemption state of the
virtual router is enabled/disabled.
The following group of fields are displayed for the current device (My Parameters)
and the master device in the virtual router configuration (Master Parameters):
• Priority—The priority of the virtual router from which the packet is being
sent.
• Advertisement Interval—The advertisement interval of the virtual router.
• Source IP Address—IP address used as source IP address in VRRP
messages.
Click Apply. The settings are written to the Running Configuration file.
