GETTING STARTED

1. Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the parts of the rice cooker thoroughly. Make sure all
ID
the parts are completely dry before you start using the appliance.
2. To prevent the damage of the non-stick coating in the inner pot, use a separate container to wash the rice.

3. Measure the rice using the measuring cup provided. Do not exceed the quantities indicated on the inside
of the inner pot.

4. Place the washed rice into the inner pot.
5. Add water to the level indicated on the scale inside the inner pot that corresponds to the number of cups

of rice used.
6. Dry the out side of the inner pot.
7. Place the inner pot in the rice cooker.
8. Close the lid of the rice cooker until a 'click' sound is heard.
9. Plug in the power cord into the rice cooker and to the wall socket and switch on the mains.
RICE FUNCTION
1. Add the pre-washed rice and apprioprate amount of water into the inner pot.
2. Press the control lever down to start the cooking. The light indicator will switch to "COOK".
3. The light indicator will switch to "KEEP WARM" automatically when the rice is cooked.
4. Open the lid and stir the rice to loosen it. For best results, do this just after the rice cooker has switched to
keep-warm mode. Then close the lid firmly. Stirring the rice allows excess steam to escape. This will give
fluffier rice.
PORRIDGE FUNCTION
This function can be found on ERC3405 only.
1. Switch the function selection to "PORRIDGE".
2. Add the pre-washed rice, ingredients and apprioprate amount of water into the inner pot.
3. Press the control lever down to start the cooking. The light indicator will switch to "COOK".
4. When the porridge is ready, pull up the lever manually. The rice cooker will switch to "KEEP WARM" after
1-2 min.
NOTE: Slowly open the lid, avoid the accumulated water on the upper cover entering the pot.
STEAM FUNCTION (MANUAL CONTROL)
1. Add appropriate amount of water into the inner pot. The amount of water varies according to the
quantity of food to be steamed. Ensure that the water level does not exceed the height of the steam tray.
Insert the steam tray into the inner pot and place the food on the plate or on the steam tray.
2. Press the control lever down to start the cooking. The light indicator will switch to "COOK"
*For ERC3405, switch the function selection to "RICE".
NOTE: To ensure even steaming, the food should be spread out evenly and should not be piled up.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Unplug the rice cooker before you start cleaning it. Wait until the rice cooker has cooled down suf-
ficiently before cleaning.
2. Remove the steam tray and the inner pot from the body of the appliance.
3. Clean the inner pot, steam tray, rice paddle and steam valve with a sponge or a cloth in warm water
with some washing liquid.
4. To protect the non-stick coating of the inner pot, do not use the inner pot for washing dishes or put
vinegar in the pot.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scouring pad or metal utensils to clean the inner pot as these will
damage the non-stick coating.
5. Cleaning the water holder: Detach the water holder from the rice cooker. After cleaning, attached the
water holder back to the rice cooker.
6. Cleaning the steam valve: Detach the steam valve from the rice cooker. Twist and turn to unlock the
steam valve, and pull it outwards. After cleaning, attached the steam valve back to the rice cooker.
