Example – If you wanted Cash Back values for debit transactions of 20, 40 & 60,
Zip code entry on manual card entry, print tip and total line and put the credit
card device in Restaurant and Demo Mode, your key sequence settings for 2022
will be as follows:
PGM 3 – 2022 Subtotal key – enter 00124606 – Cash/Amt – Subtotal key
Performing a Flag Clear (mode lock to OFF position, holding the Receipt Feed
down, turn key to PGM position, releasing Receipt Feed and hitting Subtotal) will
send the parameters programmed in the 2022 setting to the PAX device. Also
performing a Flag Clear the parameters mentioned below found in the Special
Character file will be sent to the PAX device.
Under Network Commands discussed below, "INITIALIZE PAX DEVICE"
command will accomplish the same as a Flag Clear.
NOTE: Make sure the PAX device has completely initialized before running the
Initialize PAX Device command or performing a Flag Clear. Be aware that the
PAX device's power is supplied by the ECR. Each time the ECR is unplugged
from the AC outlet and plugged in the PAX reboots itself. Trying to send
changes to the PAX through a Flag Clear or the Initialize PAX command during
the PAX reboot process will result in the changes not being sent.
NOTE: Do not activate buffered print of receipts in Address 0522 in PGM 3. This
will result in the merchant receipt not to print tip, total and signature lines
Miscellaneous Programming
This PAX IPL version has a new Special Character file (File # 23). The file size
has been increased from 82 records to 97 records to accommodate new features
related to the PAX interface. This means backing up a program a CF card will
have to be done by individual files and not the entire program. Or an existing
program would have to be uploaded to the Casio CV-10 or CV-11 programming
software and then files individually sent to the machine, except the Special
Character file, after the IPL upgrade.
The new records in the Special Character pertaining to the PAX interface are:
Record #83 – PAX software version number (default in this record is 1.12). This
value not present or a machine with the original Special Character file will result
in the machine not working with the PAX SP-30.
