Powering on the Sidewinder appliance

Once you have your appliance
flash drive in hand, do the following:
1 Insert your diskette or flash drive containing the Quick Start Wizard
configuration into your

appliance
The automatically loads the configuration information from the
appliance
Quick Start Wizard media. When this process completes, the system will
initialize and try to access the Secure Computing activation server.
If your appliance did not get licensed during initial configuration, the
Sidewinder appliance will operate for seven days with a trial license. These
features are licensed during the trial period:
• SecureOS
• Support
• VPN
• Failover
• Strong Cryptography
When you first connect to a Sidewinder appliance using the Admin Con-
sole, a window appears displaying a list of features that are currently
licensed for that appliance.
