plug
and
inspect
the ceramic insulator.
Whether
or not the

t temperature plug
is being
used
can
be
ascertained
by noting
the condition
of
the
ceramic
insulator
around
Lhe electrode.

brown
color indicates
the
correct
plug
is
being
used
.

te,
the plug
is
operating at
too
high
a
temperature

oul
d
be replaced

th
the
next colder
type.
The heat
range
of the spark
plug functions
like a

ermostat for
the engine.
Using
the
wrong
type
of
spark
plug
can make
the
engine run
too
hot

plug
has
been
selected

different spark
plug
heat
range.

long,

burning
a hole
in
the piston
top
.
In
addition,

t may
be
impossible
to
remov
e
the
plug withou
t
damaging
the
cylinder
head
.
