Chapter 2 Preparations
Checking outer rails
Make sure the orientation of outer rails by viewing "L" or "R" marked on rail.
Mount an outer rail marked as "R" to the right side of the server and "L" to the left side when viewed the
server from front.
Installing outer rails
1. Fit the square-shaped protrusions of outer
rail to the square holes of a 19-inch rack.
Make sure that it makes a clicking sound
indicating that it is locked.
The image on the right shows the front left
side of the rack. Install to the rear left side
and front and rear right sides following the
same procedure.
Make sure that the rail is installed at the
same height as the other rail already
installed.

Important
Confirm that the rails are securely locked so that they will not fall off.
Although the rail may be somewhat unsteady, it is not defective.
