Slide the caps [A].
Disconnect the negative (–) lead [B] and then positive (+)
Be sure to disconnect the negative (–) lead first.
Remove the battery.
Visually inspect the surface of the battery container.
If any signs of cracking or electrolyte leakage from the

Put the battery into the battery case.
Install the fuel tank bracket and connector.
Connect the positive lead [A] (red cap) to the (+) terminal
first, and then the negative lead [B] to the (–) terminal.

Cover the terminals with the caps [C].
If each battery lead is not correctly disconnected
or connected, sparks can arise at electrical connec-
tions, causing damage to electrical and DFI parts.
Make sure that the model name [A] of the electrolyte con-
tainer matches the model name [B] of the battery. These
names must be the same.
Battery Model Name for ZX600N: YTX9-BS
Be sure to use the electrolyte container with the
same model name as the battery since the elec-
trolyte volume and specific gravity vary with the
battery type. This is to prevent overfilling of the
electrolyte, shorting the battery life, and deteriora-
tion of the battery performance.
