Configuring DHCP

This chapter describes how to configure the DHCP server, and includes the following topics:
Information About DHCP
DHCP provides network configuration parameters, such as IP addresses, to DHCP clients. The adaptive
security appliance can provide a DHCP server or DHCP relay services to DHCP clients attached to
adaptive security appliance interfaces. The DHCP server provides network configuration parameters
directly to DHCP clients. DHCP relay passes DHCP requests received on one interface to an external
DHCP server located behind a different interface.

Licensing Requirements
If the limit is 10 hosts, the maximum available DHCP pool is 32 addresses.
If the limit is 50 hosts, the maximum available DHCP pool is 128 addresses.
