This product is fairly easy to verify and calibrate as there are only two adjustments that can be made. Each item discussed is shown below.

Loosen the vertical lock knob and adjust the telescope as shown in the figure to the right. Adjust the focus knob until the target on the top end of the wall could be observed clearly.
