Alarm Troubleshooting
Clear the RCVR-MISS Alarm
Ensure that the device attached to the DS-1 port is operational.
Step 1
Always use the supplied electrostatic discharge wristband when working with a powered ONS 15454.
Caution
Plug the wristband cable into the ESD jack located on the lower-right edge of the shelf assembly.
If the attachment is good, verify that the cabling is securely connected.
Step 2
If the cabling is good, verify that the pinouts are correct.
Step 3
If the pinouts are correct, replace the receive cable.
Step 4
If the alarm does not clear, log into the Technical Support Website at http://www.cisco.com/techsupport

2.7.333 RSV-RT-EXCD-RINGLET0
The Reserved Bandwidth Exceeds Link Rate on Ringlet Zero alarm is raised by an ML-1000 card if the
sum the of reserved bandwidth configured on each station of ringlet 0 is greater then the link rate (circuit
bandwidth). The alarm clears when the sum of the reserved bandwidth on each station falls below the
link rate. In the case of SW-LCAS or LCAS circuits, the link rate is the working link rate, which will
change when members are removed
RSV-RT-EXCD-RINGLET0 does not suppress any alarms, but it is suppressed by the
alarm on page
Clear the RSV-RT-EXCD-RINGLET0 Alarm
At the CLI command prompt in privileged executive mode, enter the following command:
Step 1
router# show rpr-ieee topology detail
This command's output shows the configured reserved bandwidth rate from each station.
Reduce the reserved bandwidth on the alarmed station until the error clears. Enter the following CLI
Step 2
command in IEEE 802.17b-based RPR interface configuration mode:
router (config-if)# rpr-ieee tx-traffic rate-limit reserved
