Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad on/off board.

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
Remove the battery (see Battery on page
Remove the following components:
Hard drive (see Hard drive on page

Optical drive (see Optical drive on page
b.
Keyboard (see Keyboard on page
c.
Hinge cover (see Hinge cover on page
d.
Rear cover (see Rear cover on page
e.
Top cover (see Top cover on page
f.
Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
Remove the two silver Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screws (1) that secure the TouchPad on/off board to the
top cover.
Remove the TouchPad on/off board (2).
