To start using the Panasonic RF-SW50 radio:

1. Insert Battery – Use one AAA (UM-4) alkaline dry cell battery.
2. Power On – Press and hold the [AM/FM/OFF] button.
3. Select Mode – Press and hold [AM/FM/OFF, %MODE/] for more than 2 seconds to choose between MODE 1 (daily use) or MODE 2 (travel).
4. Tune a Station – Use the tuning controls to find a desired AM or FM station.
5. Store Presets – Tune to a station, then press and hold one of the memory buttons ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5]) for about 2 seconds until you hear 2-3 beeps.
6. Adjust Volume – Use the volume control to set a comfortable level.
7. Use XBS (Bass Boost) – Activate XBS for enhanced bass, but reduce volume if distortion occurs.
8. Turn Off – Press and hold [AM/FM/OFF] to power off the radio.

Ensure the unit remains dry as it is only splashproof, not waterproof.
