APPLIANCE DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
°C/ °F Switchable
Temperature readings are switchable in both Fahrenheit and Celsius scale. To switch between Fahrenheit
and Celsius, please turn off the thermometer, hold the 'On/Off' button for approximate 4 seconds. (The
unit °C/ °F is located in the right corner of the LCD.)
Probe
Direction
1. Disinfect the probe with alcohol cotton ball.
2. Press the 'On/Off' button, the LCD will light up with a beep, followed by the last record of reading, and then the test
will start.
During the test, the screen displays Lo if the temperature is below 32°C/ 90°F; the LCD displays
Hi if the temperature is higher than 42.9°C/ 109.9°F.
3. Place the thermometer in the desired location: mouth, rectum, or armpit.
a. Oral use: place the thermometer under the root of tongue, than close mouth and breathe through nose normally.
Normal oral temperature is between 35.7°C/ 96.3°F and 37.3°C/ 99.1°F.
b. Rectal use: lubricates the silver probe tip of the thermometer for easy insertion. Gently insert the tip approximate
1 cm (less than 1/2 inch) into the rectum and wait for the beep.
Normal temperature is between 36.2°C/ 97.2°F and 37.7 °C/ 99.9°F.
c. Armpit use: wipe armpit dry, place the probe in the armpit and hold it firmly until the beep.
Normal temperature is between 35.2°C/ 95.4°F and 36.7°C/ 98.1°F.
4. The °C/ °F sign on the LCD screen flashes when measuring, once the thermometer beeps, the result will be shown on
the LCD screen.
Normal beep is slow beep (bi- bi- bi-), if tested temperature is higher than 37.8°C/ 100°F, the fever alarm will go
off with faster beeps (bi- bi- bi--- bi- bi- bi---bi- bi- bi-).
5. The thermometer will automatically shut off after idling 10 minutes.
To prolong the battery life, press and hold the 'On/Off' button to turn off the thermometer after the test.
Battery Replacement
Battery Type: 1.5V type LR41, SR41, UCC392, or equivalent.
1. Pull off the battery cap and GENTLY pull out the battery holder out approximately
1 cm (less than 1/2 inch).
2. Use pointed objects such as pen or finger nail to remove the battery, and replace
with a new battery.
3. Be sure to install the battery with "+" side up.
4. Slide the battery holder back into place and attach the cap back.
The dispose of the battery should comply with local regulation.
