    Registering Cordless Handsets Registration is necessary for cordless handsets. A handset will be assigned the number at registration. The handset number is used as the extension number (p. 4, 8). You can register up to 8 cordless handsets at the KX-TG2000B base unit.

    Answering Calls Two calls can be handled simultaneously by the base unit and a cordless handset (or by 2 cordless handsets). Press (TALK) • You can press the called line button instead of pressing TALK • You can also answer a call by pressing any dialing button (0) to (9), (*) or (#).

    Storing Names and Numbers in the Directory You can store names and phone numbers in the directory. The cordless handset can store up to 50 items. All directory items are sorted by the first word in alphabetical order. Using the directory, you can make a call by selecting a name on the display.

    Dialing from the Directory Press I or H to enter the directory. Press to find the desired item. To search for a name by initial: Press the dialing button for the first letter of the desired name until any name with the same initial is displayed. Press displayed.

    Viewing the Caller List If you have received new calls, “Received calls” will be displayed in the standby mode. Caller List information includes the caller’s name and phone number, the time and date the call was received. Make sure that the cordless handset is in the standby mode. Press to enter the list.

    You can use the Voice Mail System by accessing your mailbox. Each cordless handset user can only access his/her own mailbox. The general delivery mailbox is managed by the base unit user (operator). The cordless handset users can access this mailbox. You can also access the Voice Mail System features remotely from a touch tone phone.
