8. "SERVICE" mode

8. "SERVICE" mode

"SERVICE" mode can be used only when "SAFE" mode is enabled.
Use "SERVICE" mode to perform safe maintenance work with the RPB while within the
safety enclosure of the robot system. This mode can be selected by turning DI02 ("SERVICE"
mode input) OFF.

• Basically, RPB operation is only allowed in "SERvICE" mode, so application

Operation device

Only RPB operation is enabled when in the SERVICE mode. All other devices are disabled
at this time. However, users can enable additional devices if desired, but only after
determining that doing so will pose no hazard.
8.2

Prohibition of "AUTO" mode operation

As a general rule, AUTO mode operation is prohibited in the SERVICE mode. However,
users can enable AUTO operation in order to verify a robot program within the safety
enclosure area, but only after determining that doing so will pose no hazard.
8.3

Hold-to-Run function

As a general rule, the "Hold to Run" function (robot operation continues only while the
RPB key is being pressed and held), is a basic SERVICE mode function. However, users
can exclude this function from SERVICE mode operations, but only after determining that
doing so will pose no hazard.
