Basic Recording
● Turn on the TV and select the video channel (or AV
mode).
● Slide the TV/VCR/DVD switch to the right.
A
Load a cassette.
Insert a cassette with the record safety tab intact.
● The unit's power comes on automatically and the counter is
reset to 0:00:00.
● Select the appropriate colour system with "PAL/MESECAM"
and "NTSC" (
pg. 66).

Select the VHS deck.
On the unit
Press VCR/DVD repeatedly so that the VCR indicator
lights up.
On the remote control
Press VCR so that the VCR indicator lights up.

Choose a programme.
Press PR +/– or the number keys to select the channel
you wish to record.

Set the tape speed.
Press p. The current setting appears on the front
display panel or TV screen. Press p again to change
the setting while the tape speed is displayed on the TV
screen.
● Each time you press p, the mode changes as follows.
SP{LP (or EP*)
* EP is for NTSC only.

Start recording.
Press and hold 7 and press 4 on the remote control, or
press 7 on the unit.
B.E.S.T. takes place at the beginning of both the first SP and
the first LP recording after inserting the cassette. (

Pause/Resume recording.
Press 9. Press 4 to resume recording.
● You can select channel during the Record Pause mode.
G
Stop recording.
Press 8. Then press x on the VHS deck to remove the
cassette.
Recording Resume Function
If there is a power outage during recording, Instant Timer
Recording or timer recording (
recording will resume automatically when power is restored
to the unit unless the unit's memory backup has expired.
Accidental erasure
prevention
To prevent accidental recording
on a recorded cassette, remove its
safety tab. To record on it later,
cover the hole with adhesive tape.
