Adjusting the exposure setting

When taking pictures with the viewfinder, you can
use the camera's + or - button to change the exposure
setting. The setting appears in the display panel next
to the +/- mark.
Note:
You cannot change the settings described above when in the
Full Auto camera mode. To change the camera mode, see
"Making the camera mode setting" on page 2-24.
For details on making exposure adjustments, see
"Making basic exposure adjustments" on page 2-16,
and "Making advanced exposure adjustments" on
page 2-17.

Taking Pictures

Taking Pictures Using the LCD monitor

Note:
You can also make audio recordings when taking pictures
with the LCD monitor. See "Making Audio Recordings for
Photos" on page 2-22.
Follow these steps to take pictures using the LCD
monitor.
1.
Open the lens cover and turn the camera's dial
switch to
. You will see a live preview on the
LCD monitor. Center your subject on the screen.
Note:
Make sure you are not blocking the lens with your
finger, strap, clothing, or other object.
Using the LCD monitor allows
you to verify the whole image
before shooting, and confirm
the image right after shooting.
When you want to take
pictures using the panorama or
digital zoom features, or when
taking close-ups, use the LCD
monitor.
