Data Security of the GPON Interface

Because the GPON system works in broadcast mode in the downstream direction, the
malicious users can easily intercept and attack other users' messages. To enhance data
security of the user, the GPON downstream provides AES-128 encryption.

When the broadcast traffic including the unknown unicast and multicast traffic
