Pairing with a Bluetooth Device

Search for a Bluetooth device and pair with it, to exchange
information between your phone and the device.
After pairing, your phone and the target device connect with
each other and exchange information without a pass code
or PIN.
Note: When connected, the
displays in the Status Bar. If you receive a new request
for connection while connected with a Bluetooth
headset, a new Bluetooth icon displays at the left of the
Status bar and Notifications displays the connection
request.
1. Activate the target device's discoverable mode.
2. Turn on Bluetooth from your phone (see "Turning
Bluetooth On or Off" on page 140). A list of detected
devices displays.
3. Touch the Visibility field (shown by the device name).
The device must be visible to pair with an external
device.

4. Touch Scan. Your device displays a list of discovered
in-range Bluetooth devices.
5. Touch a device from the list to initiate pairing.
6. Enter the passkey or PIN code, if needed, and
touch OK.
7. The external device must accept the connection and
enter your device's PIN code.
Tip: Some devices use a default pass code of 0000. Refer to
the target device's user manual for more information.
8. When prompted to connect with the target device,
touch OK to complete the connection, touch Cancel to
retain the pairing only.
