Air Cleaner Element Replacement

○
In dusty areas, the element should be replaced more
frequently than the recommended interval.
○
After riding through rain or on muddily roads, the ele-
ment should be replaced immediately.
If dirt or dust is allowed to pass through into the
throttle assy, the throttle may become stuck, possi-
bly causing accident.
If dirt gets through into the engine, excessive en-
gine wear and possibly engine damage will occur.
•
Remove:
Fuel Tank (see Fuel Tank Removal in the Fuel System
(DFI) chapter)
Bolts [A]
Fuel Tank Bracket [B]
•
Remove the air cleaner duct screws [A].
•
Remove the air cleaner duct [B] backward.
•
Discard the air cleaner element [A].
