    Preparing the Camera Attaching the camera strap Pull the strap tight so that it does not come loose. 10 EN Charging the battery The battery charger included (AC cable or plug-in type) differs depending on the region where you purchased the camera. If you received a plug-in type battery charger, plug it directly into an AC outlet.

    Using the microSD card/ microSDHC card (sold separately) A microSD card or microSDHC card (hereafter both will be referred to as microSD card) is also compatible with this camera using the microSD Attachment. “Using the microSD Attachment” (p. 49) Insert the microSD card into the microSD Attachment.

    Setting the date and time The date and time set here are saved to image fi le names, date prints, and other data. Press the n button to turn on the camera. ● The date and time setting screen is displayed when the date and time are not set.

    Shooting, Playback, and Erasing Shooting with the optimum aperture value and shutter speed (P mode) In this mode, automatic shooting settings are activated while also allowing changes to a wide range of other shooting menu functions, such as exposure compensation, white balance, etc. as needed.

    To take the picture, gently press the shutter button all the way down while being careful not to shake the camera.     Using Shooting Modes The shooting mode changes in the order of P, G, h , s, n each time the K button is pressed. By switching to other shooting mode, most settings set in other than P mode will be changed to the default settings of the respective shooting mode.

  • Page 25 Optical zoom and image cropping are combined to zoom in for shooting (FE-5020/X-935: up to 31x, FE-4010/X-930: up to 24.8x). This function will not reduce the image quality since it dose not convert the data with fewer pixels into the data with larger pixels.

    Printing Direct printing (PictBridge By connecting the camera to a PictBridge- compatible printer, you can print images directly without using a computer. To fi nd out if your printer supports PictBridge, refer to the printer’s instruction manual. PictBridge is a standard for connecting digital cameras and printers of different makers and printing out pictures directly.
