Making an SDM Call

SDM Calls may be initiated in three different
ways:
1.
Via the dedicated Data button
2.
Via the keypad using a Call modifier
3.
Via the Contact List
Note: The maximum data message size is limited
to 20 characters which includes address
information and data selection characters.
Data entered via the data button or call mod-
ifier methods may be alphanumeric charac-
ters entered from the keypad.
In the contact list method data may consists
alphanumeric characters which are pre-pro-
grammed into your radio by your dealer.
To initiate a data call via the data button:
1 Ensure radio is in IDLE STATE
2 Enter from keypad
Called radio address
or contact list:
Display shows:
3 Press dedicated
data button
Display shows:
4 Enter message
Example of data input

Display shows:
5 Press PTT button or
dialled numbers
Tone D sounds
Display shows:
6 Press CLEAR button or
to delete dialled numbers and return radio to
IDLE STATE when tone H sounds
