The Audio Control Console
The NX5U is equipped with a mounted shotgun mic and a built-in mic. Both can
simultaneously record on separate channels, although it is strongly advised to use
external audio to produce quality sound rather than depend on the internal mic.
5. Audio INPUT1 and INPUT 2 – XLR jacks
for outside audio sources.
6. Input Type switches – INPUT1 and INPUT2
have separate switches that assign input
sources: LINE, MIC, or MIC +48V.
- LINE: Sound from an audio device
- MIC: Sound from external mic, does not
support +48V power source
- MIC +48v: Sound from a device that supports +48V power source,
including the supplied microphone
Audio Input Tips
When connecting a device that supports +48V power, set the INPUT switch to
MIC first, connect the device, then switch to MIC +48V. When disconnecting the
device, switch back to MIC, then disconnect.
Do not flick the INPUT1 and 2 switches during recording to prevent noise from
being recorded.
