Cylinder Head Compression Measurement

Start the engine and warm it up thoroughly.
.
Stop the engine and remove all the spark plugs.
Special Tool

Spark Plug Wrench: 57001-1024
.
Measure the compression of a cylinder.
OWith the throttle fully open, use the starter motor to turn
the engine over, and read the highest reading on the com-
pression
gauge.

NOTE
o
Use a battery that is fully charged.
o Make sure that there are no compression leaks from the
cylinder head gasket.

Measure the compression of the remaining cylinders in
the same manner.
