Engine Oil Change
Situate the motorcycle so that it is vertical after warming
up the engine.
Remove the oil filler cap [A] on the alternator cover.
Remove the front [A] and rear [B] engine oil drain plugs
and drain the oil.
The oil in the filter can be drained by removing the filter
(see Oil Filter Replacement).
Replace the drain bolt gaskets with new ones.
Tighten the drain bolts.
Torque - Engine Oil Drain Bolts (Front and Rear): 20 N·m
(2.0 kgf·m, 14 ft·lb)
Pour in the specified grade and amount of oil.

Do not add any chemical additive to the oil. Oils fulfilling
the above requirements are fully formulated and provide
adequate lubrication for both the engine and the clutch.
Although 10W-40 engine oil is the recommended oil
for most conditions, the oil viscosity may need to be
changed to accommodate atmospheric conditions in
your riding area.
Install the oil filler cap.
Check the oil level (see Oil Level Inspection in the Engine
Lubrication System chapter).
Because of the semi-dry sump lubrication system, the
engine oil level indicated on the dipstick will fluctuate
depending on the motorcycle's position and engine
speed when the engine is shut off. To ensure a proper
reading of the engine oil level, follow the Oil Level
Inspection procedures closely.
