  • Page 5: Before You Begin

    The model number of the treadmill is NTL10805.2. The ser- ial number can be found on a decal attached to the treadmill (see the front cover of this manual for the lo- cation).
  • Page 6: Assembly

    This is a normal condition and does not affect treadmill performance. If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt, simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Page 7 2. Attach the four Base Pads (81) to the base of the Uprights (85) in the indicated locations with four 1” Tek Screws (82) and four Plastic Spacers (101). Note: One replace- ment Base Pad may be included. Use the Base Pad to re- place any Base Pad that becomes worn.
  • Page 8 6. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included allen wrench in a secure place; the allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 26). To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.

    In addition, the console features eight preset programs. Each program automatically controls the speed and in- cline of the treadmill as it guides you through an effec- tive workout. The console also offers two heart rate pro- grams that control the speed and incline of the treadmill to keep your heart rate near a target heart rate during your workouts.

  • Page 13 When you are finished exercising, remove the key. Step onto the foot rails, press the Stop button, and adjust the incline of the treadmill to the lowest setting. The incline must be at the lowest setting when the treadmill is folded to the storage posi- tion or the treadmill will be damaged.

    If the speed and/or the incline of the treadmill is about to change, the speed setting and/or the incline setting will flash in the displays to alert you.
  • Page 15 HOW TO USE A HEART RATE PROGRAM Heart rate program 1 will automatically adjust the speed and incline of the treadmill to keep your heart rate near a target heart rate that you select. Heart rate program 2 will keep your heart rate within a preset range.
  • Page 16 If your pulse is not detected during the program, the letters “PLS” will flash in the Pulse/Speed dis- play and the speed and/or incline of the treadmill may automatically decrease. If this occurs, see the instructions included with the optional chest pulse sensor.
  • Page 17 HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL TO USE IFIT.COM PROGRAMS To use iFIT.com MP3 or CD programs, the treadmill must be connected to your MP3 player, CD player, portable stereo, home stereo, or computer. See pages 17 and 18 for connecting instructions. To use iFIT.com programs directly from our Web site, the treadmill must be connected to your computer.
  • Page 18 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO Note: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, see instruction A below. If the LINE OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of a long 1/8” to RCA stereo audio cable (available at electronics stores) into the input jack on the console.
  • Page 19 HOW TO USE AN IFIT.COM MP3, CD, OR VIDEO PROGRAM To use an iFIT.com MP3, CD, or video program, the treadmill must be connected to your MP3 player, CD player, or VCR. See HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL TO USE IFIT.COM PROGRAMS on pages 17 to 19.

  • Page 21 HOW TO USE AN IFIT.COM PROGRAM DIRECTLY FROM OUR WEB SITE To use programs from our Web site, the treadmill must be connected to your home computer. See HOW TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER on page 18. In addition, you must have an internet connection and an internet service provider.
  • Page 22 HOW TO ADJUST THE CUSHIONING SYSTEM The treadmill features a cushioning system that re- duces the impact as you walk or run on the treadmill. To increase the firmness of the walking platform, step off the treadmill and slide the cushion adjustors toward the front of the treadmill.

    HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be per- manently damaged. Remove the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
  • Page 24 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Pivot the frame down until it is past the pin on the latch knob.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
  • Page 26: Walking Belt Is Off-Center/Slips

    1/2 of a turn. Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered. b. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
