    To reduce the risk of serious injury, read all important precautions and in- structions in this manual and all warnings on your treadmill before using your treadmill. ICON as- sumes no responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by or through the use of this product.

    BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the revolutionary NordicTrack C2400 treadmill. The C2400 treadmill offers a selec- tion of features designed to make your workouts at home more enjoyable and effective. And when you’re not exercising, the unique C2400 treadmill can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other treadmills.
  • Page 6: Assembly

    During shipping, a small amount of lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton. This is a normal condition and does not affect treadmill perfor- mance. If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt, simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Page 7 3. With the help of a second person, carefully tip the treadmill onto its other side as shown. Partially fold the Frame (55) so that the treadmill is more stable. Do not fully fold the Frame until the treadmill is completely assembled.
  • Page 8 Latch Assembly with the Bracket. Lower the Frame (55) (see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 26). 6. Identify the Left Base Cover (88), which has cutouts in the locations shown. Slide the Left Base Cover onto the left Upright (85).
  • Page 9 Uprights (85) to a vertical position. 11. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex key in a secure place. The hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 28). To protect the floor or car- pet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.
  • Page 10 If you purchase the optional chest pulse sensor (see page 24), follow the steps below to install the re- ceiver included with the chest pulse sensor. 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated Screws (99) from the back of the Console Base (98).

    Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the control system of the treadmill. If the control system is damaged, the walking belt may change speed, accelerate, or stop unexpect- edly, which may result in a fall and serious injury.
  • Page 12 In addition, the console features ten Cardio programs. Each program automatically controls the speed and in- cline of the treadmill as it guides you through an effec- tive workout. The console also offers two Pulse pro- grams that control the speed and incline of the treadmill to help you keep your heart rate near target heart rate settings.

    4 on page 14 to turn off the demo mode. Next, stand on the foot rails of the treadmill. Find the clip attached to the key (see the drawing on page 12) and slide the clip onto the waistband of your clothes.
  • Page 14 OFF, LOGO, ROAD, or VI- SUAL EQ. The “demo mode” can be used while the treadmill is displayed in a store. While a demo mode is selected, the power cord can be plugged in, the key can be removed from the console, and the display will remain on.

  • Page 16 Step onto the foot rails, press the Stop button, and adjust the incline of the treadmill to the lowest setting. The incline must be at the lowest setting when you fold the treadmill to the storage posi- tion, or you may damage the treadmill.
  • Page 17 The treadmill will then automatically adjust to the speed and incline set- tings for the second segment.
  • Page 18 The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph. When the next segment of the program begins, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment. 6. Measure your heart rate if desired.
  • Page 19 HOW TO USE A PULSE PROGRAM CAUTION: If you have heart prob- lems, or if you are over 60 years of age and have been inactive, do not use the Pulse pro- grams. If you are taking medication regularly, consult your physician to find whether the medication will affect your exercise heart rate.
  • Page 20 Speed or Incline buttons; however, when the console compares your heart rate to the current target heart rate setting, the speed or incline of the treadmill may automatically change. To stop the program at any time, press the Stop button.
  • Page 21 To program a speed setting and an incline setting for the first one-minute segment of the program, simply adjust the speed and incline of the treadmill as desired by pressing the Speed and Incline but- tons.

  • Page 24 HOW TO ADJUST THE CUSHIONING SYSTEM The treadmill features a cushioning system that re- duces the impact as you walk or run on the treadmill. To increase the firmness of the walking platform, step off the treadmill and slide the cushion adjustors toward the front of the treadmill.

    1. Hold the handrails and place one foot against a wheel. 2. Tilt the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the wheels. Carefully move the treadmill to the desired location. Never move the treadmill without tipping it back. To reduce the risk of injury, use extreme caution while moving the treadmill.

    HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. It may be neces- sary to push the frame forward as you pull the knob to the left.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
  • Page 28 SOLUTION: a. With the key in the console, press one of the Incline buttons. While the incline is changing, re- move the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the maximum incline level and then return to the minimum level. This will recalibrate the incline sys- tem.

This is especially important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. The pulse sensor is not a medical device. Various factors may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings.
