Power and Fault LEDs
When the switch is powered on, it performs its diagnostic self test. The
self test takes approximately 30 to 45 seconds to complete, depending on
whether a switch port module is installed in the slot.

LED Behavior:

During the self test:
• Initially, all the switch and port LEDs are on.
• After approximately 3 seconds most of the LEDs go off and then may
come on again during phases of the self test. For the duration of the
self test, the Self Test LED stays on.
When the self test completes successfully:
• The large Power LED stays on, and if a switch port module is installed
in the slot, the Module Status LED stays on, and the Fan Status LED
stays on.
• The large Fault LED and Self Test LED go off.
• The port LEDs near the network ports and on the switch port module
go into their normal operational mode, if they are connected to active
network devices.
If the LED display is different than what is described above, especially if
the Fault and Self Test LEDs stay on for more than 60 seconds or they
start flashing, the self test has not completed correctly. Refer to chapter
3, "Troubleshooting" for diagnostic help.
