Installing the Drive

Important information about
bus-powered operation and the supplied USB cable:
• Your Toshiba Mini Hard Drive is bus-powered. This means the Drive
gets the power it needs to run via the USB interface on your computer
or hub, and does not need to be plugged into an AC outlet. In a few
cases you may need to use two USB ports to power the Drive. There is
no way to know for certain until you connect the Drive.
• Do not plug the Drive into a USB port on a keyboard or hub that does
not have its own power supply.
• The supplied USB cable has two type A connectors and a mini-USB
connector. The secondary type A connector will only be needed if you
find you require two USB ports to power the Drive, as explained in
"Connecting the Drive to your computer", next page.
• USB connectors can only be inserted one way. Be sure to correctly
insert the connectors, or you may damage the Drive and void the
warranty.
