Unpack the new ink cartridge.
Important
• Unpack the ink cartridge just before you put it in the machine. If an ink cartridge is left unpacked for a long
time, the ink life will be shortened.
• Brother machines are designed to work with ink of a particular specification and will work to a level of
optimum performance when used with Brother Original ink cartridges. Brother cannot guarantee this
optimum performance if ink or ink cartridges of other specifications are used. Brother does not therefore
recommend the use of cartridges other than Brother Original cartridges with this machine, or the refilling
of empty cartridges with ink from other sources. If damage is caused to the print head or other part of this
machine as a result of the use of ink or ink cartridges other than Brother Original products due to the
incompatibility or lack of suitability of those products with this machine, any repairs required as a result
may not be covered by the warranty.

Insert the new ink cartridge firmly into the machine.

Close the ink cartridge cover.
Note
After replacing the ink cartridge, DO NOT turn off the machine or open the ink cartridge cover until the LCD
shows Ready.
