Probable cause
Option ROM for a device could not run
because of memory constraints.
RTC power (CMOS battery) is lost
Invalid time or date in
configuration memory.
RTC battery might need
replacement.
CMOS jumper might not be
properly installed.
Memory configuration is incorrect.
RAM failure.
Memory modules do not match.
Defective memory module.
Improper module load.
Insufficient memory module cooling.
Memory configured incorrectly.
DIMMs are installed that do not fulfill
system requirements.
Recommended action
Run the Computer Setup (F10) Utility to disable
unneeded option ROMs, and to enable ACP1/USB
Buffers at Top of Memory.

Run Computer Setup (F10) Utility and set
default settings.

Replace the CMOS battery.

Replace the system board.

Set the date and time from the Control Panel
or in the Computer Setup (F10) Utility
(depending on the operating system).

If the problem persists, replace the RTC
