To make calls with your handset you must "introduce"

it to its base station (registering). This is a very simple
and automatical process.
Handsets of the Gigaset 2000/3000 families and non-
Siemens handsets must be registered manually
(see page 49).

4010 base station
Automatic registration ("introducing") is only possible
for the supplied handset and any other G4000 hand-
sets bought in additional. Before activating your hand-
set, place it in the base station with the display facing
upward. After approx. 1 minute, the handset's internal
number will be displayed (e.g. "INT1").
The next unassigned internal number (1 – 6) is auto-
matically assigned to the handset. If all numbers are as-
signed, the internal number 6 is re-assigned.
It is possible to assign a different internal number (see
page 53) or a different internal name (see page 52) to a
handset later.
