Section 7 - VPN
VPN > OpenVPN > Settings
OpenVPN allows peers to authenticate each other using a pre-shared secret key, certificates, or username/
password. When used in a multiclient-server configuration, it allows the server to release an authentication
certificate for every client, using signature and Certificate authority. An OpenVPN can be established through
this router.
You can select server mode, client mode, or access server client mode. In access server client mode, the user has
to download the auto login profile from the OpenVPN Access Server and upload the same to connect.
To configure the router as an OpenVPN Server:
1. Click VPN > OpenVPN > Settings.
2. Toggle OpenVPN to ON and complete the fields in the table below.

Open VPN

Settings

Select Server.
Enter the IP network for the VPN.
Enter the netmask.
Enter what port to use. The default port is 1194.
Select either TCP or UDP.
Select the encryption algorithm from the drop-down menu.
Select the hash algorithm from the drop-down menu.
Select either Full Tunnel or Split Tunnel. Full Tunnel mode just sends all traffic from the client across the
VPN tunnel to the router. Split Tunnel mode only sends traffic to the private LAN based on pre-specified
client routes. If you select Split Tunnel, refer to "Local Networks" on page 120 to create local networks.
Click Save to save and activate your settings.
