Ignition Coil Tests
The ignition coil can be tested b y using an Ohm meter. Use
the following specification table and illustrations to test the
ignition coil.

ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION
Ignition Coil and HT Lead Replacement
1. Remove th e drivers s ear and disconnect th e (- )
negative battery cable.
2. Loosen ho se clamp and disengage th e PVT intake
hose from the duct.
3. Disconnect the harness connection to th e ignition coil.
4. Remove the hig h tension lead cap fr om the spa rk
plug.
5. Remove the fasteners retaining the ignition coil and
remove the coil assembly from the vehicle.
6. Install the new igni tion co il asse mbly an d tighten
fasteners to specification.
NOTE: Be sure to re install th e coil mount
spacers upon assembly (if equipped).
Ignition Coil Retaining Bolt Torque:
75 in. lbs. (8.5 Nm)
7. Connect the harness connection to the ignition coil.
8. Reinstall the PVT in take hose and tighten hose cla mp.
9. Reconnect the ba ttery cable an d insta ll th e dr ivers
seat.
